Storytelling Through Poetry Workshops
Everyone has a story to tell…
Writing our stories into poems can help us to connect with ourselves, our history, our loved ones and our hopes for the future.
Belgravia Arts Community provided this unique experience for a few of our members, with a series of poetry workshops being offered during September 2016 and February 2017.
After the success of our first workshops we are happy to announce that we will be running a new series soon.
The workshops provided an opportunity for participants to turn their own personal stories into poems in a safe, guided and creative space.

Facilitated by local poet Elizabeth Lewis, participants were guided through a series of activities, allowing them to tell their stories in a creative way.

Elizabeth completed her degree in Writing and Poetry at Edith Cowan University.
Her poems have been published in Indigo, Quadrant, Cottonmouth and Zadok. She has worked in the Book Industry and in Community Work for over 12 years.

Belgravia Arts Community is aiming to run more of these sessions based on demand from our members. The end goal is a published collection of works which will be a collaboration between our poets and artists.
